Magnussen ready to replace Maldonado in Renault

The barn will announce Renault reserve driver for its renovated factory team next month. This confirmed a spokesman for the team and added: "There is much speculation about the team now, and quite interested in the place with us for many pilots. We expect to announce the third pilot in February." Recently, the French team acknowledged that do not intend to change their titular pilot composition including Pastor Maldonado and Jolyon Palmer. British newspaper The Telegraph, however, says Magnussen, who competed for McLaren in 2014, is in talks with Renault on a possible future titular position. The newspaper argued that the place of Maldonado is under threat due to major political changes in his country Venezuela and it can benefit Dane. "Soon something will happen that has not happened in a long time. Several pilots will probably retire from the sport, so it is important to be close to Formula 1," said 23-year-old Magnussen for the Danish media.
