Marchionne: Alfa Romeo should return to F1

Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne believes that Alfa Romeo should return as a constructor in Formula 1, partnering with Ferrari.

"In order for Alfa Romeo once again become a real brand for sports cars, should consider the possibility to return in Formula 1. How? In collaboration with Ferrari," Marchionne told the Italian press and the question of whether and Le Mans is notoption replied: "I would prefer F1."

"Alfa Romeo are able to produce chassis and engine can do," says the president. 

In 1950 and 1951 Alpha became champions with Giuseppe Farina and Juan Manuel Fangio and in the 60s and 70s Company supplies engines before returning with its own team between 1979 and 1985. According to Marchionne brand now must return to Formula 1, perhaps with engine Ferrari.
